
Plating is a supplier to battery manufacturers and the automotive industry, among others. In Germany and the US, steel is processed in cold rolling mills and annealing plants for use in many different products, such as of batteries or brake and fuel lines. About 500 colleagues work at Plating.

Thomas Steel Strip in Warren, Ohio (USA), produces a variety of steel products, including for the production of alkaline batteries and rechargeable batteries. It was the first company in the world to nickel plate steel for batteries.

Apollo Metals in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA, produces copper-plated steel for virtually all car manufacturers in North America.
